You can submit a written question to the DPP in advance of a public meeting and, on most occasions, your question will then be answered at that meeting.
You can also submit a question at the beginning of a meeting, however, it is unlikely to receive a detailed response immediately.
You can also ask a DPP Member to raise a question on your behalf.
If you have any special requirements, for example, if you need help to submit a question, the Partnership will make alternative arrangements for you.
Ards DPP wishes to ensure that all questions raised are responded to in full enabling the public to scrutinize the performance of the local police. There are however occasions where it is not in the public interest to provide the required information, namely:
a) it is in the interest of national security
b) it would endanger the security of one or more individuals
c) it relates to an individual and is of a sensitive nature
d) it involves information that the police are holding in confidence from another agency
e) it would, or would be likely to, prejudice proceedings which have been commenced in a court of law
f) it would, or would be likely to, prejudice the prevention or detection of crime or the apprehension or prosecution of offenders.
