Local Police Performance

Local Police Performance

One of the key functions of Ballymena DPP is to monitor the performance of the District Command Unit (DCU) by questioning the District Commander on the reports that he presents at four public meetings.

The District Commander provides Ballymena DPP with two biannual reports to the public meetings in June and December and two quarterly reports at the public meetings in February and August each year.

The District Commander’s biannual report covers either the first six months or the full twelve months of the financial year and has information on the following areas:

  • Progress on policing with the community
  • Police contribution to community safety projects
  • Progress in achieving the targets in the local and province-wide policing plans
  • Progress in crime prevention targets.

The quarterly reports at the February and August meetings largely concentrate on the progress in achieving the targets in the Local Policing Plan.
