Format of DPP Meetings in Public
Banbridge DPP will hold a minimum of six Meetings in Public per year. These Meetings are held at neutral venues across the District to ensure that they are accessible to all and as inclusive as possible. Refreshments are provided at every Meeting.
The DPP Chair opens each Meeting and outlines the format for the Meeting. Items on the agenda typically include:
- actions arising from previous Meetings in Public
- questions and issues about policing in the District raised by the community
- a report from the PSNI District Commander
- a presentation relating to the theme of the Meeting.
Members of the audience are given opportunities to ask questions about the matters being discussed at regular intervals throughout the Meeting, and can also submit questions in writing or ask DPP members to ask a question about policing in the District on their behalf.
At DPP Meetings in Public, everyone in the audience is supplied with:
- copies of the agenda
- any police reports relating to that Meeting
- a sheet on which to submit a written question at the time of the Meeting
- a DPP Information leaflet
- a questionnaire to assess levels of satisfaction with the Meeting
Copies of documents relating to the DPP and to the local PSNI are also made available.
