Welcome to the Belfast District Policing Partnership Webpage.

Belfast District Policing Partnership was established on 6th March 2003.  The District Policing Partnership is comprised of ten political representatives and nine independent representatives of the local community.  Its main functions are

  • to provide views to the Police District Commanders and the Northern Ireland Polciing Board on any matter concerning the policing of the City;
  • to monitor the performance of the police in carrying out the Annual Policing Plan as it relates to the City and the local Policing Plans for the City;
  • to make arrangements for obtaining the views of the public about matters concerning the policing of the City and for obtaining the co-operation of the public with the police in preventing crime; and
  • to act as a general forum for discussion and consultation on matters affecting the policing of the city.

The Partnership has established four Sub-Groups, one for each of the Police District Command Units, North, South, East and West.  Each of the Sub-groups consists of eleven members, six political and five independent members.
