Within the Castlereagh local policing plan several key objectives have been prioritised.
- A youth focused strategy which will direct attention to the anti-social activities of young people which often results in damage to property and an increased fear of crime particularly amongst older people in our community.
- Enhance community contact to develop personal knowledge and better access within the community to sector police officers, senior police management and a better understanding of our call management procedures. Within this Castlereagh PSNI are seeking to provide police surgeries within each sector, introduce police pedal cycle patrols and establish neighbourhood watch schemes. Additionally the District Commander is seeking to increase the number of officers allocated to sector policing teams
- To increase the detection rate for criminal damage by 5%
- To reduce the number of domestic burglaries by 2%
- To reduce the number of vehicle crimes by 8%
