Role of DPP


The roles and responsibilities of Coleraine DPP are set out in the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000.

The main roles are as follows:

  • to identify local policing issues,
  • to establish policing priorities for the local policing plan with the PSNI,
  • to monitor police performance against the local policing plan,
  • to facilitate an open forum for members of the public to ask questions of the PSNI and
  • to gain public co-operation in working with the police to prevent crime.
