Local Policing Plan

Cookstown District Command Unit (DCU) of the Police Service of Northern Ireland in accordance with Section 22 of the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000 must develop local plans for the policing of the district.

These plans, which are compiled on an annual basis, must detail the objectives set for policing the district and make reference to the objectives set centrally by the Northern Ireland Policing Board.

Local objectives for policing the district are set and reviewed on an annual basis after a period of negotiation between Members of the District Policing Partnership and senior police officers from the DCU.  This process entails identifying and agreeing upon a number of priorities for the district.  Prior to meeting with senior officers to agree local plans Members consider the results obtained from all the consultative work previously undertaken to ensure priorities suggested are consistent with the needs of the district.

The most recent local policing plans can be accessed below.
