Cookstown Area Command Unit is comprised of an urban and rural sector. The urban sector covers the whole of Cookstown town, whilst the rural sector covers all of the geographical area outside of Cookstown and includes the villages of Coagh, Moneymore, Stewartstown and Pomeroy. Responsibility for policing within both areas is assigned to a Sector Inspector and two Neighbourhood Policing Sergeants based within Cookstown Police Station.
Neighbourhood Policing Teams
The DCU also operates two Neighbourhood Policing Teams (Urban and Rural) to take the lead in policing the Cookstown, Moneymore (including Loup & Ballyronan), Coagh (including Ardboe), Stewartsown and Pomeroy (including Rock & Dunamore) areas. Neighbourhood Policing Teams have been empowered to work with local communities to allow the community to have an influence on the policing of their area.
