Local Police Management Team

A/ Superintendent Williamson is the Area Commander with overall command for the Cookstown Area Command, thus ensuring the delivery of an effective and efficient policing service throughout the area  He is also the Operations Manager with responsibility for developing and co-ordinating policing strategies and activities as well as crime reduction strategies throughout the district.  Chief Inspector also has rerssponsibility for:

Operations, and includes responsibility for efficient and effective management of a number of departments, promotion of health and  safety and overseeing licensing issues including inspection of clubs and licensed premises.   His role is primarily based around supervision of all reports arising from police investigations and ensuring they comply with the Code of Ethics, human rights Act and meet the Service objectives.  

The Urban Sector of the district.  He also manages local response officers, the Neighbourhood Policing Team and traffic wardens.  He also acts as the DCU's Road Policing Liaison Inspector and has responsibility for the local Roadsafe Strategy.  

The Rural Sector.  His role includes providing leadership for rural sector personnel ensuring a high level of service provision in accordance with PSNI Code of Ethics and management priorities.
