The Partnership meets in public session on a number of occasions throughout any one financial year to offer local communities the opportunity to become involved in the mechanisms of neighbourhood policing.
The meetings take place throughout the district in an effort to make them accessible to all sections of the community and those residing in both urban and rural centres. To focus debate with the District Command Unit the Partnership facilitates themed meetings in alignment with the key areas in the local policing plan.
Monitoring Performance
During meetings in public session the Partnership monitors and scrutinises the quarterly, six-monthly and year end reports delivered by the District Commander of Cookstown District Command Unit. In doing so, Members provide constructive feedback on neighbourhood policing arrangements and targets set for the policing of the district.
The Partnership produces a report on each meeting held in public summarising business undertaken, police reports delivered, questions submitted by the public for the District Commander and monitoring carried out by Members. Any of these reports can be viewed under Publications .
The Partnership also offers members of the public the opportunity to verbally put questions to the District Commander on the policing of their locality at meetings in public session.
Should you wish to attend any of our meetings in public please contact the DPP Manager on any of the methods listed in Contact Us, who will inform you of the arrangements for the next meeting.
