Surveys

In preparation for negotiating and influencing local policing plans for the district the Partnership undertakes to ensure it is equipped with all the information needed to reach conclusions on what the priorities should be for the incoming policing year.  The Partnership, on an annual basis, undertakes the completion of a survey and a series of targeted focus groups to explore further the results of the survey.

Survey

In general terms, surveys conducted by the DPP are undertaken in June and consist of a number of categories, a:

  1. Profile of Respondents
  2. Crime Issues & Associated Problems in the district
  3. Public Satisfaction with Policing
  4. Profile & Awareness of the DPP
  5. Issues Impacting upon the quality of life in the district

Focus Groups

Focus groups are conducted separately to the survey and are designed to explore in more depth common issues emanating from the survey. The decision on the number and composition of each focus group is dictated by the results of the survey and the gender, age and community background of respondents.
