MEETINGS IN PUBLIC
Four Meetings in Public
Craigavon District Policing Partnership holds four Meetings in Public throughout the year at various locations in the Borough. These meetings are held for the following reasons:
- to allow the District Commander to present a report on recent crime issues in the borough
- to give Members of the Partnership and members of the public an opportunity to ask the District Commander questions on issues affecting the policing of the Borough.
The District Commander's written report contains information including:
- recorded crime and detection rates within the Council area
- specific issues about the policing of the Borough that may have raised the public's interest or concern
These meetings are open to all those affected by policing and anti-social behaviour in Craigavon and you are encouraged to attend.
Themed Meetings in Public
Two additional Meetings in Public a year are reserved to address specific issues and as a general forum for the public to address all areas of policing. The first Special Public Meeting took place on 26 April 2006 at the Seagoe Hotel, in Portadown, which focused on Respecting Diversity and Race Hate Crime.
The most recent Open Forum was held at Craigavon Civic & Conference Centre on 8th November 2007 which focused on crime, crime reduction and CCSP & DPP campaigns over the Festive Season.
NEXT PUBLIC MEETING
The next Public Meeting is will be in February 2007. Details to be confirmed and publicised on website and in local newspapers.
At that meeting, the Area Commander Chief Inspector, Pauline Shields will present her 6 month report, outlining the performance of the PSNI.
You are invited to discuss your concerns about these and any other aspects of policing with the District Commander, either in person at the meeting, in writing, or by phone. Written questions should be sent to the DPP Manager.
You can contact the DPP Manager, Tel: 028 3831 2587, Fax: 028 3831 2488, email: dppm@craigavon.gov.uk
