To help with finding local opinion on what should go into the local policing plan and to assist the DPP develop its outline strategy and action plan for the period 2006-2009, and to ensure independence and encourage open debate through the focus group sessions, the DPP in the autumn of 2005 employed an external company to undertake the work on its behalf. It was intended to meet with small groups of between 8-12 individuals and have a structured focus group based around a number of broad issues. The DPP contracted Blueprint Development Consultancy to undertake some focus group consultation in late 2005 and early 2006, to garner the community's opinions of the PSNI and DPP. The DPP produces a Public Consultation Report each December which specifically takes into consideration those issues which are raised in various local forums.
