Public Consultation
Dungannon and South Tyrone DPP makes arrangements to consult with the community on an ongoing basis to:
- find out what the main local policing/crime issues and concerns are and
- obtain your views on the policing of the district.
To maximise public consultation opportunities and effectiveness we carry out the following activities:
- Public consultation meetings
- A public consultation survey every two years (NISRA surveys have been held in 2004, 2006 and 2008)
- Focus Group sessions to consolidate issues raised in the survey and at DPP meetings
- Ongoing consultations with local Community Police Liaison Committees (CPLCs) and other community groups/forums with a vested interest in the policing of the Borough.
The information obtained from the consultation process is used as the basis for discussions between the DPP and PSNI to inform the local policing plan and set the targets for crime prevention in the Borough.
The Consultation Report 2007 has been forwarded to the PSNI District Commander for his consideration when drawing up the local Policing Plan for 2008/2009.
