Format of Meetings

Fermanagh DPP meetings in public are held at neutral venues in the three police sectors in the County.  Meetings generally last for two hours.  Members of the public are welcome to attend all meetings in public and to observe the District Commander as he makes his response to questions posed by DPP members and members of the public.

The format of DPP meetings in public is established in the Fermanagh DPP Standing Orders and follows a relatively standard format.

  1. Apologies
  2. Official Announcements
  3. Confirmation of Minutes
  4. Presentations to the DPP
  5. Report of the District Commander on Policing in the District
  6. Questions on the District Commander’s Report
  7. Questions on the policing of the District and from members of the public

To apprise DPP Members and the general public on the wider issues surrounding policing, presentations are given at the meetings in public.

Recently there have been presentations on

  • Drugs
  • PSNI Policing with the Community
  • PSNI Road Policing
  • Business Crime

The Fermanagh DPP Standing Orders and the DPP Code of Practice on Functions and Responsibilities established the general procedure on How to Ask Questions but this procedure has been amended to suit the developing process of the DPP.
