Chief Superintendent Will Kerr has been appointed to lead and shape the future of frontline policing in the area. He is in charge of the new district command unit which is comprised of Ballymena, Ballymoney, Coleraine, Larne and Moyle.
Chief Superintendent Kerr has been appointed as part of the Police Service's restructure in line with the Review of Public Administration.
The new District Command Unit has been designed to ensure the police deliver an effective, efficient and professional service to the area. The new Command Unit ensures the best use of all local policing resources - equipment, vehicles, technology, buildings, people and money - to achieve their aim of making your community safer and meeting the priorities set out in the Local Policing Plan.
The District Commander will lead the change process, develop, shape and engage with the community in order to deliver professional and progressive policing in line with the needs of the local community.
Working to the District Commander and his team, is the Area Commander Chief Inspector Nigel Goddard who will work to deliver policing at a local level. He will manage policing in the Larne area and deliver local policing solutions on a daily basis. The Area Commander will engage directly with the District Policing Partnership, local representatives and communities.
The District Commander and his team are fully committed to delivering an effective and efficient policing service to the Borough and making it a safer place to work, live and visit.
