SURVEY LOCAL COMMUNITY
The Partnership commissioned Vision Management Services to assist in the development of a questionnaire which was randomly distributed to 1000 selected households throughout the Borough. The purpose of which, was to acquire the views of those residing within the area in terms of policing priorities and satisfaction with policing in general.
The response to this survey was 15.1%. A key action of the DPP Operational Plan is to increase the percentage of survey respondents. In order to increase awareness, the DPP will regularly publish information pertaining to the Partnership in the Larne Borough Council Magazine "Portview" in addition to articles being printed in community magazines and Newsletters.
The outcome, analysis and conclusions obtained from the survey laid the foundations for the Policing Plan 2005/2006.
The top five areas of concern amongst the public are:
- Beat/Foot Patrolling
- Prompt Response to Emergencies
- Investigating Crime
- Crime Prevention
- Enforcing Drug Laws
