Limavady DPP seeks to: 'engage with the public in order to impact on local policing, so that Limavady Borough becomes a safer place for everyone'.
Limavady Borough lies in the north west of the Province, covers an area of 586 sq km, and transacted by the two main arterial routes from Belfast to Derry (A2) and from Donegal to the Causeway coast (A6). It is an area of outstanding natural beauty, with five areas designated as areas of special scientific interest, resulting in a transient tourist population.
The Borough is also served by a ferry service between Magilligan and Greencastle, Co Donegal and is in close proximity to the City of Derry Airport and Lisahally deep water Port. The University of Ulster has two campuses each within 16 miles of the Limavady town, and a College of Further and Higher Education which attracts students from Donegal and further afield.

The resident population is 33,210 approx 1.9% of the Northern Ireland population, and 80% of residents had lived in the area for more than 5 years. Less than 1% of the population are from minority ethnic backgrounds. The rural community accounts for approximately 63% of the total population, 2.4% of farm business in Northern Ireland .
The main source of employment is within the textile and protective services sectors, while the main business sectors are Manufacturing, Construction, Wholesale/Retail and Agricultural/Foresty. Unemployment is running at 3.0% of the workforce, while the N Ireland average is 4.6% (August 2006). 70% of homes are ‘Owner Occupied’ while 30.8% are rented. It is one of six Council areas which have mixed identity housing estates. Statistically, the Borough is the 8th most deprived of the 26 District Council Areas.
