Meetings last no longer than two hours, and recently have been conducted in two sections. The first section relating to the DPP and the Police. The second section relating to the DPP, the police and the community.
Normally, the District Commander uses a powerpoint presentation to present his report on the policing of the Borough.
An opportunity is given for questions from the floor, however, in order to allow the police time to prepare a full and open response, it is advisable to submit a question in writing in advance of the meeting.
Some meetings are thematic in nature, and have practical presentations i.e. crime prevention advice was on offer at a meeting focusing on Crime against the Older Person, while at a meeting focusing on Road Safety, a police motorbike was in attendance and those present had an opportunity to see a breathalyzer device and speed detection devices.
