Local Police Performance

The DPP holds a minimum of six meeting in public each year.

The DPP continues to evaluate the most effective way to hold these meetings and as part of the ongoing process have agreed to hold four meetings focusing on crime reports and statistics, and two thematic meetings on a local issue.  During 2004/05 the two identifed issues were Crime against the Older Person, and Road Safety.  Over 70 members of the public attended the meeting looking specifically at Crime against the Older Person.

During 2005/06 the two themes are the Role of the Community Policing Team and the Role of the Youth Diversion.

As part of the DPP's responsibility to monitor police performance, the opportunity is taken at both meetings in public and private to discuss progress against issues and targets identified in the district policing plan.
