The DPP is the Voice of the Public regarding policing issues.
One of its main roles is to consult with the community, and then to represent the views and issues of the community in discussion with the police.
Identified issues are prioritised and used to assist with the development of the district policing plan. According to the Police (NI) Act 2000, the District Commander must take cognisance of the views of the District Policing Partnership when formulating the district policing plan.
Limavady DPP continues to meet with key stakeholders within the Borough in order to identify policing issues and priorities. For further detailed information see the section of Consultation.

A meeting was held with Hands that Talk, a Dungiven based organisation who works with members of the deaf community. Both Irish and British Sign Translators assisted with the process.
