The DPP is required to hold a minimum of 6 meetings in public per year. At these meetings the Area Commander will present his report on the policing of the District to the DPP. The Commander provides a comprehensive report every 6 months to enable the DPP members to assess the performance of the Police against the targets in the Local Policing Plan (LPP).
Following the presentation members of the DPP may question the Commander on any issues relating to the report and policing within the area generally.
To facilitate greater engagement with the community Moyle DPP has developed its meetings to allow an open session for the public to ask questions, through the Chairperson, to the DCU Commander.
Meetings in public also provide an opportunity for the PSNI to deliver presentations on issues that are topical in terms of local policing and crime prevention. The meeting also provides an opportunity for the DPP to conduct its business in a public forum.
