Police Performance

An important area of  responsibility for the DPP is monitoring police performance, against targets set in the Local Policing Plan.

This is done at the Meetings in Public held by the DPP throughout the District, when the District Commander gives his report on the policing of the District and DPP members question him on progress with targets set in the local policing plan. DPP members have a responsibility to assess the progress the police are making on targets, and on progress with community safety initiatives the PSNI are involved in.

This opportunity to question the District Commander in this public forum is important as members of the DPP and the public have the opportunity to hear the police explain progress in meeting their targets, and if they are not meeting them, explain why .
