Revised Policing Structure
Chief Superintendent Henry Irvine is the Commander in charge of the 'D' District Command Unit that comprises of Antrim, Lisburn, Newtownabbey and Carrickfergus Command Areas. He is charged with leading and shaping the future of frontline policing in these areas.
Chief Superintendent Irvine has been appointed as part of the Police Service's restructure in line with the Review of Public Administration.
The new District Command Units have been designed to ensure police deliver an effective, efficient and professional service to your community. The new Command Units ensure the best use of all local policing resources - equipment, vehicles, technology, buildings, people and money.
Chief Superintendent Irvine will lead the change process, develop and shape policing in this District Command Unit in order to deliver professional and progressive policing in line with the needs of the whole community.
Working to the District Commander and his team, each Area Commander Chief Inspector will work to deliver local policing at local level. They will manage local policing in each Area Command and deliver local policing solutions on a daily basis. Your Area Commander will engage directly with District Policing Partnerships, local representatives and communities.
