Objective

Target

To prevent and reduce crime

  • To reduce the number of assaults (1)
  • To reduce the total number of domestic burglaries in line with service targets(2)
To improve crime investigation
  • To increase the number of drug seizures
To reduce the incidences of anti social behaviour
  • To reduce the number of incidents of anti-social behaviour to ensure a 15% reduction by 31/03/11 (2,3)
To reduce casualties on the road
  • To reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on the road

(1)    Assaults  include common assuaults, aggravated assaults, assault occasioning acutal bodily harm, wounding/grevvious bodily harm and wounding/grevious bodily harm with intent (excluding assaults on Police)

(2)    Reductions will represent the Area's contribution to the Service wide reduction and the annual milestone for this indicator will not be confirmed until the 2007/08 crime statistics are released in June 2008

(3)    Targets will be measured against performance acheived at 31 March 2008

The annual policing plan provided a profile of the DCU and details of financial planning.  In addition to the policing objectives as established by the Policing Board, the District Commander identified the objectives and targets listed in the above table as specific to North Down.
