Meetings in public offer the opportunity for the public to learn about initiatives being undertaken by the Police, how issues of crime and community safety are being addressed and to observe the District Commander’s response to questions.
At the monitoring meetings the District Commander will present his report as to how the PSNI have met their local policing objectives as contained in the local policing plan for the Borough.
Questions will be taken from the floor on issues of crime and policing in North Down. Questions are not required in writing, however written questions will generally receive a more detailed answer than those taken at the meeting.
The conduct at meetings is governed by the Standing Orders.

CIRCUMSTANCES IN WHICH INFORMATION CANNOT BE PROVIDED
A.If it is in the interests of national
security
B.It would endanger the security of one or more individuals
C.It relates to an individual and is of a sensitive personal nature
D.It involves information that the police are holding in confidence from another agency
E.It would, or would likely to, prejudice proceedings which have been commenced in a court of law
F.It would, or would likely to, prejudice the prevention or detection of crime or the apprehension or prosecution of offenders
