DPP Chair’s Welcome

As the new Chair of the Omagh District Policing Partnership (DPP) I would like to welcome you     to this site.  I hope you will find the information contained within this section interesting and a useful way of seeing the progress being made by the Partnership in shaping the delivery of local policing in Omagh District Council area.

Since its establishment in March 2003, the DPP has been determined to engage with public, to reflect issues raised by the community when monitoring the work of the local police and to work in partnership with other agencies through Omagh Community Safety Partnership, developing projects that would reduce crime and the fear of crime in the District.

The DPP was heavily involved in identifying local policing priorities for the 2005 – 2006 Local Policing Plan that focuses on, and tackles, criminal activity in order to reduce crime and create a safer environment for everyone living and working in the Omagh District area.

We have experienced a growing level of community involvement in the independent monitoring of local policing which will help to build confidence in the delivery of a policing service for communities across Northern Ireland.

We welcome comments or concerns you may have on issues relating to policing within Omagh District Council area, or indeed comments you may wish to make relating to the information contained within this site.
