Strabane DPP Members

Strabane DPP has 15 members, 7 Independent Members and 8 Political Members.

8 Councillors were nominated by Strabane District Council on 4th December 2007 using the D'Hondt system, meaning that 8 Political Members are based on the strength of individual political parties on Strabane District Council.

The Northern Ireland Policing Board (The Board) appointed 7 Independent Members effective from 1st April 2008, when Strabane DPP was re-constituted.

Taken together, the composition of Strabane DPP, both policitical and elected members, is representative of the community it serves.  In making appointment, the Board took into account the community background, gender, age, disability, ethnicity, marital status and sexual orientation of candidates.
