Community Consultation

Strabane DPP recognise that community consultation is vital to ensure that the policing delivered in our district meets the needs of the people that live here.

Every year Strabane DPP undertakes an intensive community consultation exercise. We engage with members of the public and listen to their views using a variety of methods:

  • Surveys
  • Focus Groups
  • Local Consultative Forum Meetings
  • Meetings in Public

All the information compiled is prioritised and issued to the local PSNI. They then use this information to direct their work throughout the year.

Please see the attached reports of the last four years public consultation exercise. These reports detail the decision making process behind the recommendation of certain priorities.

Strabane DPP see the these reports as major successes because the majority of recommendations that were put forward have been incorporated into Local Policing Plans over the past 4 years.

This, means that local people have been involved in shaping the delivery of policing in Strabane District for four years.
