Craigavon DPP was established in March 2003 and is a partnership between Craigavon Borough Council and representatives of the local community. Craigavon itself is situated on the southern shore of Lough Neagh and is easily accessible both by road and rail. The borough has a total population of approximately 80,000 people, and encompasses a mix of quiet country villages and modern towns, including the urban centres of Lurgan, Brownlow and Portadown. Craigavon has an impressive range of visitor attractions. These include; Lough Neagh Discovery Centre, Coney Island, Ballydougan Pottery and Moneypenny's Lock and Lockhouse. The area also boasts a thriving industrial sector and is viewed as a centre of excellence for industry and innovation in Northern Ireland.
